Ordering, Shipping and Delivery

What kind of stock do you have? How can I find out when you do a shop update?

Each piece is made with love, and is unique, so stock is limited. If you see something you like, grab it while you can, as I may never make the same piece again!

Having said that, don't hesitate to say hello on Instagram (@thatcanadiangirl) and let me know what you'd love to see in the shop. This will help guide future shop updates, and you may find similar pieces appearing in the shop.

Your best bet is to sign up to the newsletter in the site footer, as I'll aim to announce shop updates as soon as they happen!

How do you handle shipping and delivery?

Every piece is carefully packaged to ensure it can withstand the travel in the postal system, and I'll usually be doing two drop-offs at the Post Office a week. 

You'll receive a dispatch note as soon as your precious parcel is on its way to you, within a week of order.

If you have an urgent order, such as a last-minute gift, please drop me a line and I'll do my best to send it as quickly as possible.

Delivery times will depend on your location:

  • UK delivery: 2-3 days from dispatch using Royal Mail
  • International deliveries: 1-3 weeks, depending on destination

If you need quicker international delivery, please get in touch for priority mail pricing, which can be as quick as 2-3 days.

If you live locally to Swavesey, Cambs and would like to pick up your items in person, you can use the code "atlpickup" during checkout. In that case, I won't ship your items by post and will hold them for pick-up. Please email me and we'll arrange a suitable pick-up time from my home studio.

Wherever possible, I'll reuse and recycle packaging to ship your order. Find out more about my eco-friendly packaging policy.

Can I return an item?

I hope you'll love your items as much as I've enjoyed making them. Please get in touch as promptly as possible if you wish to return your purchase.


Using ceramics at home

Can I put ceramics in the dishwasher?

Yes, the pieces I make are dishwasher-safe, and I've been putting mine in the dishwasher regularly.

Having said that, to keep your plates and cups in best shape, you might prefer to handwash them to avoid the possible bumps that can happen in the dishwasher.

Note that pieces with lustre (gold, mother of pearl, etc) may eventually lose their shine due to the harsh scrubbing that occurs in a dishwasher, but they'll still be safe to use.

Are the glazes food safe?

I use commercial food-safe, lead-free glazes in all products.

In keeping with the EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), your personal information is treated with great care and respect.

When you make a purchase, your name, email address, postal address and phone number will be collected and stored via Shopify.

When signing up to our newsletter, we'll hold your email address safely, and only contact you with news and promos relating to Along the Lanes.

Should you wish for your details to be removed, please get in touch.
